Its no secret that one of my biggest, and most favorite, clients is Magnolia Hotels. They have suuuuuch a great brand and their boutique hotels in Houston, Dallas, Denver and Omaha are easily some of my favorite hotels in the world. I shoot their properties for their marketing collateral which is such an amazing opportunity and its always a great assignment that I probably enjoy more than I should (it is “work” after all …) Recently the Houston property renovated their ballroom and Sev and I were thrilled when they asked us to come down to take some photos of it. My two passions combined into one shoot: Shooting a wedding setting for a commercial client. It was pretty much a dream come true! When I was in photography school, an instructor told me my work (architectural/hospitality and weddings and portraits) was like mixing bacon and ice cream, you wouldn’t think it could work at first, but once you try it and see it, it just works. I guess he was right. Mr. Dobbs, this one’s for you.
